Celebrate Valentine's Day your way!

Valentine’s Day arrived! There are various legends tied to the history of this day. Some say it has to do with a Roman Festival called Lupercalia, practiced to cleanse the city of evil spirits, bringing about good health and fertility. Another legend speaks of an annual holiday established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, named after Christian martyrs. It is the day when lovers express their affections to one another and celebrate intimate relationships. Since the 19th century, this festivity has paved the way to mass-production of candy, greeting cards and jewelry.

Some interesting numbers: Over 1000 locations nationwide produce chocolate, providing jobs to 39,500 people. $420 million is the combined wholesale value of locally produced flowers. $2.6 billion: shocking sales of 29,000 jewelry stores nationwide last February.

Even if you don’t believe in Valentine’s Day, it truly is a great day to show your affection to your significant other. It is a good day to pronounce those 3 little words that say so much; it is a great day to experiment and improve your intimacy. Want to find new ways to surprise your partner this Valentine’s Day?
